Kauai was formed nearly six million years ago, and was first discovered by Europeans in the year 1778. One of the often overlooked attractions on Kauai is the thriving agricultural industry, which produces such diverse crops as guava, coffee, pineapple, star fruit, and sugarcane. Another important crop is taro, which was an important part of ancient Hawaii's diet and which continues to be critical to traditional Hawaiian celebrations such as luaus.

Hanalei region or the "North Shore" is lush, tropical and some say magical. Search for properties from Koolau road in Moloaa to Kee Beach at the end of the road in Haena. You will find real estate for sale in Haena, Wainiha, Hanalei, Princeville, Princeville Ranch, Queen Emma's Bluff, Anini Beach, Anini Vista, Kalihiwai Bay, Kalihiwai Ridge, Namahana Farms, Secret Beach, Kilauea, Seacliff, Kaupea Road, Waipake, Waiakalua and Moloaa. Kawaihau region or the "East Side" continues from Moloaa to the Wailua river and offers real estate for sale in Moloaa, Aliomanu, Anahola, Kealia Beach, Kealia Kai, Kawaihau, Wailua Rise, Wailua Homesteads, Wailua Houselots, Wailua River, Kapaa Town, Sleeping Giant, Waipouli Beach, Waipouli, Olohena and Opaekaa Falls.
What about things like water, electric and in more remote spots, roads? Do they actually own the land? I'll never be able to wrap my head around the "fee-simple" and "leasehold" rules, but can understand them on a very basic level. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things I want to know, so that's why I'm hoping this can spark up some discussion.
